Ready or Not…

It’s been said that Utah has only 2 seasons… winter and summer. There’s a blurry in-between somewhere, but if you ask any Utahn watching snow dust the peaks of the Wasatch this past week, they’ll just shrug and say, “welcome to Utah”. It was in the 90’s right before this. Normal, right? For us? kind of.

I was reminded of the coming season just this morning when shuttling the kids to school. As I started my car, that little warning indicator was staring me in the face, letting me know that my tire pressure was low. This happens often when temperatures change with the seasons because air contracts when it’s cold and expands again when it warms back up. It got me thinking about tire rotations, oil changes, and overall safety inspections. No one likes changing a tire or a breakdown when it’s 20 degrees outside and the road is covered in white. No one. Be proactive, not reactive.

Come see us and get ready for the inevitable changing of the seasons. We can check everything out for you and ensure that you are ready for whatever the Utah elements decide to throw at us!

Closing Out the Summer with a Day of Fun!

The Car Show is coming up in just over 2 weeks! Loose ends are getting tied up and we are getting excited as we anticipate another successful event that gives back to our community. As many of you are already aware, this year’s recipients are of the furrier sort. JP has chosen the Utah Humane Society as being the star and beneficiary of this year’s show, as our four-legged furry friends are a soft spot for JP. We have worked closely with them over the last few months in order to get ready for the event and we can’t wait to show them what our community can do when we come together!
Over the course of the last couple of months, several business professionals and companies have stepped up to aid us in the execution of our event. We would like to thank the Utah Humane Society, our sponsors at Audra Lloyd Realty and Dawn with Fuzzy Love Photography, and please welcome our newest contributor…drumroll, please! We are excited to announce that Leilani’s Eatery Snowy Snow Cone has joined the ranks! Those that were present last year will appreciate the game-changer that adding her snow cone truck to the event will bring! Check out her Facebook page for further information:

Special thanks as well to those in our networks that have jumped in to share our flyers and help promote the event or donate towards the event as well! We’d especially like to thank Ashley Sue Tuft with Citywide Home loans for her early donation!
The event is fast approaching, so if you are interested in attending, donating, or helping out, let us know! Get ready for a day of fun in the August sun!
A couple of safety and other notes for the event:~ Please ensure you bring some form of sunshade if you plan to stay for the duration of the event. The event is being held in a blacktop parking lot, and 90 degrees can feel like much more without shade. (There will be a few sunshades set up by our team, but we can’t cover an entire parking lot.)~ We love our furry friends (obviously), and though we do not discourage the attendance of your friendly pets at the event, we highly encourage you to think ahead. It’s going to be hot and the asphalt is hotter. We would hate to see any dehydrated pups with burned pads on their feet…~ Water bottles will be available and we will spark up a few grills to serve hamburgers and hot dogs. In lieu of charging for these refreshments, we simply ask for a donation to the Utah Humane Society. (Not subject to the Snow Cone truck, which we have left charging/donations to their discretion.)~ Parking for the show vehicles will be located along the shop’s parking lot (3675 S. 300 W.) and are first-come, first-serve assignments. Parking for spectators will be along 3rd west, wherever you can legally find a spot. Come early to get the best spots!
More updates to come as we close in on the date! Looking forward to seeing everyone and their beautiful vehicles there! See our event posted in the Car Czar website here:

Every Parent’s Worst Nightmare

If you have kids or plan to at some point, then it is only a matter of time before your child gets their driver’s license and sets out into the abys without you. It’s a big, scary world out there. We spend the first sixteen years of their lives, trying to prepare them for what’s out there. Drunk drivers. Distracted drivers. Let us not forget Utah is notorious for drivers that don’t know what their mirrors are for or what a turn signal is. But these kids are “adults” now. They think they’ve got this and you can no longer tell them something they don’t already know because they have it all figured out. (Flashbacks anyone?)

So, you hand them the keys to their first car and on a wind and a prayer…they’re off! Out into the world they venture! Say your kid is an old soul and drives like it as well, they’re still going to hit something. God help you if they grew up watching classic re-runs of the Dukes or NASCAR, or demolition derbies… Point is, we all wreck a car or two when we are learning. The first few months fly by without a hitch and then they think they’ve really got it under control. That’s when the complacency sets in and accidents happen.

We don’t trust just anyone when it comes to our kids, so why would you put them behind the wheel of a vehicle you no longer trusted the structural integrity of or let their bruised egos climb back behind the wheel of a ‘fixed’ vehicle they previously had run into a concrete divider on the freeway, going 70 MPH, after a merry-go-round ride from hell across 4 lanes of rush hour traffic? The answer is, you wouldn’t.

This one hits close to home because I have 2 little ones. One 6 (with 10 more years to mentally prepare me for the day she’s out in the traffic lanes of Utah) and the other is 11. This may seem insignificant, but I swear just yesterday my 11-year-old was wearing Pampers and needed a refill in her sippy. It goes so fast and then…they’re out there. Without you. Are you prepared for that? Do you know where to take their vehicle to get it repaired when the unfortunate inevitable does happen?

You can trust in our experienced staff, who all have children and know what it feels like to send them out there on four wheels into the world. They will take extra care to ensure that the vehicle, once repaired, is so safe that they’d let their own child get back behind its wheel without a worry about the previously compromised security… Because it won’t be an issue when we finish up with it. Kids wreck cars. Is your child safe? Are they ready for what’s out there?

All Good Things Come to an End

With a bittersweet sadness, summer’s coming to an end. There are just a few weeks left until the kids go back to school and parents everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief. Not that we don’t adore our beautiful children, but…summer can be a lot! (Hats off to the teachers!) With the changing of the seasons comes the obstacle of preparing for the inevitable. I know that winter seems a long way off, but trust me, time flies when you’re having fun!

Get a jump start on any repairs that you’ve been putting on the back burner because it was too hot to venture outside. Come pop in and see us. Let our trusted experts give you an honest comb-over (not the hideous kind) and check your vehicle for any potential problems so that when the seasons change, you can rest assured and high five yourself because you know that you’re ready. You didn’t procrastinate. You didn’t put it off until the last second. You didn’t wait until the issue became a catastrophe. You’re on it like the boss that you are. Look at you go!

Looking for something to do to close out the summer? Come join us for a day of beautiful cars, fun, and people coming together for a great cause to elicit change! JP’s Collision Center’s 2nd Annual Car Show is coming up on August 25th! See our event posted in Car Czar for more details or visit the events page on our Facebook and let us know you’re coming. See you there!

Reviews Aren’t a Scary Topic When You Conduct Business As We Do!

JP’s Collision Center has been in business for over 4 decades and we pride ourselves on our customer service! But don’t just take our word for it, check out our reviews! Few auto repair facilities in the valley can boast the ratings we have and we wanted to thank all of our customers, from the bottom of our hearts, for taking the time to write reviews and help us shine! Thank you!

The Car Show is just over a month away and we are getting stoked! Are you? Do us a favor…if you plan on attending this event, can you go to the link on our events page and let us know so that we can be sure we have enough food and drinks for everybody, as well as get the parking lot ready to accommodate for the numbers of vehicles that’ll be there? Also, if you wouldn’t mind, please like and share the event to help us get the word out so we can ensure a successful and fun event that raises money for a great cause! Thanks in advance and see you there! You can also view our event info on Car Czar’s official website:
